Saint-Brieuc-PSG (0-7): "I see a team that is enjoying itself, that is having fun", says Luis Enrique happily

Seven goals against Brest, seven goals against Saint-Brieuc. Seven days after its first Breton card, PSG inflicted a second one this Wednesday evening against Saint-Brieuc in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France (7-0) . Despite the turnover operated by Luis Enrique, the Parisian team deployed the same energy and displayed the same success to go and get its ticket for the last four of the competition. Present at a press conference, the Spanish coach expressed his satisfaction and is pleased to see a team so fulfilled on the field.
What did you like most about your players' performance? The efficiency, the energy or the seriousness of your team?
LUIS ENRIQUE. I liked everything, I agree with what you said. I will congratulate the opponent, Stade Briochin, I think they had a very high level competition by eliminating two Ligue 1 clubs. We played at a very good level and if we had played at a lower level, we would have had problems. We were able to give rest to players, playing time to others. We can manage the load of minutes according to the following matches. We fulfilled our objective of qualifying for the semi-finals and in a brilliant way.
Warren Zaire-Emery, who played again this Wednesday, is he 100%?
At 100%? I hope so! He is a player who has just recovered from an injury, he is important for us. Tonight, he was able to play 25-30 minutes and that is important for his physical level, but being at 100% is difficult.
Was the key to keeping your cool throughout the match?
I think the key is the state of the pitch which positively influences the way of playing. Saint-Brieuc defended well, they were fresh in the first half but we did everything to direct the balls towards Kvara and Doué. That's what allowed us to bring superiority. It's the pace imposed with the ball that wears down the opponent. There were these two goals in the first half and the second was very complicated for them. Running after the ball is tiring. If the ball had been slower, it would have been a more complicated match for us.
How are you experiencing this intense series of matches?
On the one hand, the calendar is busy but it is busy because we are in all the competitions. I see a team that enjoys itself, that has fun, regardless of the opponent. It is a huge pillar, this idea of enjoying, having fun and seeing that things go as well as possible.
How do you plan to manage your team on Saturday against Lille in anticipation of the reception of Liverpool?
We don't really know yet. We've managed this load of playing time, we can be competitive everywhere but we have to arrive with the adequate playing time and it's not always easy with the number of games played. There are sometimes injuries too. What I saw before Christmas pleased me a lot but what I've seen for two months is even better. It gives a very complete picture of this team that I find very good. What I see pleases me a lot.
You said Ramos was important in every minute he played. He proved you right with his hat-trick…
Amen!
